This is a feedback one, folks, but not about my remedial coloring skills...after realizing that I was no longer beholden to Mazinger-Z's color scheme, I decided to try fooling around with other color schemes for Maisy, using "Bootudahed" and a couple other pics. In this case, I forsook her traditional "white hair, silver skin" for something more human appearing...I'm still not certain, though.
...oh, and yes, that hideous green color IS the St. Harryhausen Academy's primary school color, along with gold and black.

It's hard to give full hints and tips for colorizing without knowing what software you are using. Perhaps we could chat sometime regarding coloring techniques or something, as I think I could help figure some approaches out. Then again, I don't want to be pushy about it. My art mentor keeps trying to force his own approach onto my stuff and it can get more...tense than helpful sometimes, as we have very different points of view about art, though I know he means well.
Anyway, I think you have the right idea with the shade of the green on the skirt and tie, but maybe just a smidgen darker would be good. Course, it's going to look different on diferent monitors anyway. I'm on an LED display right now away from home, so maybe it's just brighter than it would normally be.
